Ramadan Project 2011

As part of our Ramadan Campaign 2011  Al-Khair foundation is providing aid in a two part programme to Widows and the Street children of Bangladesh, with the help of our delivery partners  Zam Zam Bangladesh, sister concern of Zam Zam Charitable Trust .


  

In the first part of the  programme Al-Khair Foundation is providing food packs to widows, the destitute and the orphaned Street children in the cities of Sylhet, Dhaka, Jheanidah, Pabna, and Tangail.   


    

A total of 1000 food packs containing a months worth of food aid providing for the holy month of Ramadan have  been distributed  amongst  the needy to complete part one of the programme.


   

In the second part of the programme Al-Khair is providing  Islamic education to  widows, orphans and the destitute in the areas of Jheanidah and Sylhet. This project to is benefit around 500 families.

  



Due to its geographical structure and situation, Bangladesh is prone to natural disasters. Almost every year during the Monsoons of the summer large areas of the country are either flooded or hit by cyclones. As a result there is ongoing human suffering in the region.

Al-Khair Foundation has been involved in a range of welfare and disaster relief projects in recent years to address the needs of the locals in the most effected areas.


Village Construction

Al-Khair Foundation is working on a project of reconstruction of villages destroyed by flooding in the areas of Khulna, Dumuriya and Upajilas with the help of the local authorities and volunteers.

Water Projects

Although Bangladesh is a reverine country with huge water resources, unfortunately there is a scarcity of safe drinking water. Al-Khair Foundation has embarked on a water supply project which consists of the installation 15 deep fresh water bore holes at the cost of £750.00 each.

To ensure safe drinking water for the areas of Moheshkhali Upazila under Cox’s Bazar district covering 8 villages in 6 union.



Al Khair foundation is also involved in other welfare projects and services such as

  • Annual Qurbani Projects
  • Medical services (Acid burn treatment)
  • Marriage facilitation
  • Widow and Orphan sponsorships

Pride, success, and glamour is how one would describe the awards ceremony held by Pakistan Power 100 in London on September 29, 2012 attended by hundreds of prominent personalities from the international Pakistani community. Whilst Imam Qasim is not Pakistani, the CEO of AKF was still honoured and mentioned alongside the great humanitarian Abdul Sattar Edhi.
