A year on from the floods of 2010,  there is  severe  flooding in many areas of urban and rural Sindh, displacing an approximate 8.9 million people and damaging or destroying over 1 million homes in the effected areas.

The death toll currently stands at over 400  with around 800 people injured in the province of Sindh alone, where the floods have effected 5 million the majority of which are women and children  and destroyed over 4 million acres of farmland.

Stories of lost lives, destroyed belongings and livelihoods are coming in from the effected areas, where people have even had to sell whatever possessions they could salvage from the floods to feed themselves and their families.

The areas worst effected by the current flooding are Badin, Umarkot, Mirpur Khas, Tando Mohammed Khan, Tando Allah Yar, Hyderabad, Tharparkar, Thattah and Shaheed Benazirabad.
