Al-Khair Foundation’s intimate knowledge of the Muslim community has allowed it to participate in the formulation of a range of policy initiatives. The Foundation is active in formulation policy at a local level to deal with issues such as mental health, children protection, knife crime, forced marriages and other headline issues. Advice from the Foundation was actively sought as in the case of the aftermath of the Glasgow Airport bombing in June 2007 when the Foundation was called upon help in liaising with the affected communities. The Foundation has also been actively involved with the Office of the Mayor of London on Muslim issues affecting the Capital. |
