Who we are
As you may be aware, the National Huffadh Association UK (NHA) was established in January 2016. The main aims and objectives are to educate, develop and empower huffadh within the UK in order that they can progress and contribute to wider society.
Alhamdulillah, since our inception, we have progressed immensely and have reached out to many communities within the UK as well as establishing branches internationally in North America, South Africa and Norway. Currently, we have over 2,000 registered Huffadh and over 500 registered Masaajids. We have also successfully built international partnerships in: Malaysia, USA & Norway.
This year in Ramadan, we successfully created and launched a brand new and exciting (free to download) mobile app to assist people from around the world in their Qur’an memorisation journey. The app is called: Tahfidh. Memorize. and has attracted over 3,000 downloads across both Apple & Android devices.
UK Qur’an Memorisation & Recitation Competition
We are proud to announce that the regional rounds of our 3rd annual Qur’an Memorisation Competition 2019 will be taking place this weekend on Saturday 2nd November (Al Hidaayah Foundation in Yorkshire) and Sunday 3rd November (Wightman Road Masjid in London). This year, we have confirmed entries of over 100 contestants for the competition. We have four main categories: Category A (5 Juz), Category B (15 Juz), Category C (30 Juz) & Category D (Recitation only). Alhamdulillah, due to popular demand, this year we have introduced our 1st ever UK Qur’an competition for females too as a separate contest, in additition to the males’ competition.
The contestants who are shortlisted from the regional rounds will make it through to the Grand Final, which will take place on Saturday 14th December (males) and Sunday 15th December (females). The confirmed venue for the Grand Final is: Al Manaar Muslim Cultural Heritage Centre, 244 Acklam Road, London, W10 5YG. This venue is a very diverse and active community. We are expecting over 500 guests (including contestants) in each of the events. For the Grand Final, we are expecting international judges attending the Grand Final from: Egypt, India, Tanzania, Norway & from the United Kingdom.
Alhamdulillah, over the past three years, this competition has attracted huge number of entries and in total, over 400 contestants have taken part in the annual competition over the years. Our competition has been well publicised both nationally and internationally. Please see below press release articles from last year’s Grand Final:
